Worship in School

As a Church of England Voluntary Aided (CEVA) primary school, worship is very important to everyone here.

We start and end the week with a whole school assembly, with Friday’s gathering being led by each class in turn. We invite the parents/guardians of the children in that class to join us.

Throughout the rest of the week, pupils have a daily act of worship and assembly - either in class or in Key Stage groups. On Wednesdays, visiting clergy or members of the local Christian communities to which some of our pupils belong, lead our assemblies.

As a parents or guardian, you have the right to withdraw your child(ren) from assemblies and Religious Education if you wish. Please send a letter to this effect to the school office.

We have very close links with St Michael’s Church in Framlingham and hold various services there during the year, including Harvest, Easter and Christmas. We also use the church for our Year 6 leavers’ service.  Members of the local community help run an after-school Christian club at St Michael’s called Hitcham’s Holy Horrors.
