Design & Technology
Design and Technology presents pupils with practical tasks.
Tackling them helps the children to become problem-solvers and to use their creativity and imagination.
This approach begins in our Nursery and Reception classes, where we encourage the children to explore and construct with a range of different objects and materials. They also learn a range of new techniques.
The pupils learn to evaluate, design and make products involving food, textiles, and different types of construction. They also acquire technical knowledge and a range of skills.
2015 saw the installation of our new curriculum kitchen, a superb resource that is well used by all year groups in lesson time, and additionally by a regular Cookery club and also our superb Hitcham’s Head Chef competition.
Authentic, purposeful projects such as making bread, puppets, light-up rooms, photo frames and moving toys all help to inspire the children.
